You And Tattoo
A tattoo is the finest replica of a person's style. They echo a certain aspect of your personality and showcase the traits of your character. In fact, most of the time, people judge you merely on the basis of the kind of tattoo you are wearing and for this reason it is very important to wear tattoos that suit your personality.
Think Before You Ink
Tattoos can last a lifetime and that is why it is important for you to know your purpose before embarking on a tattooed journey. Do you want the tattoo to be an expression of your identity or do you wish it to be a shocker for those who watch? What sort of image do you want to project? These type of questions will help you identify the reasons of your want and thus choose the type of tattoo which gels beautifully with your ultimate objective.
How Tattoos Work
Tattoos are created by injecting ink into the skin through a needle attached to a hand-held tool popularly known as a “tattoo gun”. The tool moves the needle up and down at a rate of several hundred vibrations per minute and penetrates the skin by about one millimeter.
The ink is set underneath the skin's surface where the design is seen through it. Because the epidermis (outer layer) is constantly replaced, the ink is injected into the dermis (second layer) where it is more stable and so the tattoo ink will remain in place with minor fading for a lifetime.

The Tattoo Gun
Today’s tattoo machine or “tattoo gun” is electrically powered vertically vibrating steel instrument that resembles and sounds like a dentist’s drill. It is fitted with solid needles that puncture the skin at the rate of 50 to 3,000 times a minute. The tattoo gun moves a needle up and down like in a sewing machine, carrying ink into your skin in the process.
The Pains
Everyone has different threshold of pain. A person may consider tattooing not painful but it could be devastating to another. Others describe the feeling as a "hot scratch". Some say it is "irritating". And to some, not as bad as they feared.
Pain is inevitable in tattoo and overcoming the pain is a rite of passage. The pain is temporary unlike your tattoo. To help you get an idea of which part of the body is painful and less painful, check out the pain chart below.
